Château Puybarbe has existed for several centuries and vineyards were planted in the Roman times on the hillsides, but the oldest proof of winegrowing activity in Puybarbe dates from 1895 through the sale of the property.

Astral de Château Puybarbe has ripe bramble and cassis aromas on the nose combined with some mint as well as vanilla and spice notes from the use of oak staves in the tank

This is a delicious, full bodied wine with abundant fruit and soft acidity, but still quite firm tannins.
