Domaine la Rouillère Grande Réserve Rosé
Côtes de Provence · France · 37.5 cl · 12%
Crystal-clear wine with a pale golden colour and green reflections. On the nose, it presents a fresh and austere profile, with citrus notes of lemon zest anda subtle hint reminiscent of gunpowder or stone, followed by delicate herbal notes and green apple. On the palate, it stands out for its oily texture and structure, which contrasts with sharp acidity, leaving a saline and vertical sensation on the back of the mouth—very characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc from the Leyda Valley. As it evolves in the glass, it reveals different layers of flavour, culminating in a long and expressive finish. This vintage, marked by an exceptionally cold climate for the Leyda Valley, promises great aging potential in the bottle.
Located at 180 m.a.s.l and nestled between the coastal mountain range and the third marine terrace, Cordón Huinca rises above a dominant granodiorite rock formation, rich in quartz and feldspar. This low-fertility soil, composed of ferruginous clays with medium plasticity in conjunction with granodiorite, creates a structure that allows roots to delve deep in search of nutrients. A mere 12 km away, with views of the Pacific Ocean, our vineyards receive the influence of the sea through thermal regulation, relative humidity, and a constant breeze, which allows for the slow development of polyphenols in thegrapes without losing the acids within the berries.Original rootstocks, clones 242 and 317.Hand picked between the 13th and 14th of March, 2024. Late picking for a cold harvest. Grape selection in the vineyard and sorting table.
Fermentation: 20 to 25 days in stainless steel tank at temperatures between: 15° – 17°C.The wine was kept for 6 months on the lees, with 70% of the ageing in concrete.
