Domaine la Rouillère Grande Réserve Rosé
Côtes de Provence · France · 37.5 cl · 12%
A crystalline wine of pale purplish red colour. The nose is fragrant, with many floral notes and red fruit such as fresh raspberries blending with aromas of wild herbs and soft spices. On the palate, this wine is striking for its lightness and freshness, with a texture of slightly rough but gentle tannins.
This dry-farmed vineyard is over 100 years old, planted with País variety vines, cultivated in the traditional way, respecting the traditions of the Maule peasant family, where organic and resilient agriculture is practiced. The soils are worked with horse-drawn plows, which perform the “breaking” and then “cross-cultivate” the soil, allowing moisture to remain as long as possible to survive the season, which is sure to be hot. These soils, called “Colos” due to their high content of red clays, are rich in iron and, together with granite stones of different sizes and states of alteration, which are found throughout the profile, allow the soils to have good structure, porosity and root development. The grapes were picked on the 4th of March, 2022. Fruit sorting was done at the vineyard. Hand-picked.
20% Whole cluster vinification with minimum extraction (infusion method). Wild yeast fermentation and aged in concrete egg (50%) and old barrels. Bottled unfiltered.
