Aromas of blackcurrant, mint and cedar wood on the nose. The palate has a rich texture with flavours of ripe berries and chocolate with a mineral finish.
The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard is situated in the mountain area above McGregor. The soil is a weathered shale. Where as the Merlot vineyard is situated in the Steenboksvlakte area in McGregor and the soil is a red clay soil.
Is a perfect blend between two Bordeaux cultivars, to achieve a balanced fruit versus minty aroma and mouthfeel. The blend achieves complexity due to the use of wood composition of 50% French oak, 25% American oak and 25% Hungarian oak, to ensure a fruity and mineral finish.
