Domaine la Rouillère Grande Réserve Rosé
Côtes de Provence · France · 37.5 cl · 12%
The red muscadel has a typical bright ruby red colour. It has intense red fruit and excessive ripe berries on the nose. The palate has prominent hints of stewed fruit that is perfectly balanced on the palate with a smooth and creamy finish.
This wine is produced exclusively by McGregor Winery. McGregor Winery’s vineyards are nestled between the foothills of the Riviersonderend mountains and nurtured by sun soaked soils and fresh mountain water. The grapes stand on red alluvial soils, specifically on hot north facing slopes. The terroir is karoo like, with hot dry weather. The dry terroir has a nice ‘raisin-like’ aroma in the wine as a result. The grapes are picked late afternoon, to ensure over ripe fruit.
The juice ferments only for a couple of hours and then wine spirit is added. This stops fermentation due to high alcohol and ensures natural sweetness of the fortified wine.
